Where Would You Like To Serve?

The sections below are opportunities in Chapelwood's Ministry Teams, Connect Groups, and Serve Opportunities. Please select as many as interest you. Each opportunity includes a brief description of it's function.

Ministry Teams

Ministry Teams are critical to the functioning of Chapelwood UMC.

Worship Team: implements programs related to the worship service (ushers, lay scripture reading, communion, choir, etc.

Evangelism and New Member Team: greet visitors and integrate new members into the life of the church.

Member Care and Support Team: provide care and support for members experiencing a time of difficulty or crisis.

Adult & Family Ministry Team: provide support and organization for adult classes, small groups, and church-wide activities.

Serve Team: provide support and organization for adult outreach programs.

Children's Team: provide care, support, and teaching for children's classes.

Youth Team: outreach to youth inside and outside CUMC, addressing the needs and challenges of youth.

Membership Stewardship Team: coordinate efforts to fully involve the congregation in the activities of the church.

Communication Team: optimize and organize effective communication between the church and the congregation.

Asset Management Team: maintain, repair, and improve the church grounds and buildings.

Connect Groups

Connect offers the opportunity to be part of a small group that fosters interpersonal relationships with other church members as well as to participate in the life of the church.

Become a Stephen Minister: trained members that offer one-on-one Christian care to people going through tough times.

United Women of Faith: mission oriented towards women and children. Open to all women.

United Methodist Men: open to all men. Meet once a month for breakfast and program. Assist with church activities.

Stitch 'n Chat: fellowship while doing a variety of individual and church-related projects.

Ladies Lunch: once a month fellowship group goes to lunch at a local restaurant.

Chapelwood Game Day: once a month fellowship activity open to all.

MomCo: connecting moms to build community. Meets monthly with a meal provided. Need volunteers for meals, too.

Serve

Serve includes opportunities to be involved in community outreach. Chapelwood UMC actively engages in these areas.

Loving BISD: a partnership with Brazosport Independent School District to provide support for teachers, staff, and students

Gathering Place: a monthly gathering for those suffering from dementia and their caregivers.

Society of St. Stephen: volunteers take calls from people in need of rent and utility assistance.

Disaster Relief: the United Methodist Committee on Relief provides assistance to victims of disasters in the US and abroad.

The Food Basket: a local food pantry in Clute, Texas
